ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
For
more than 150 years La Porte's business community has provided for the
people of this area, the country and the world. From steel product,
bread and bun, machine tools, farm implements, radiators, washing
machine parts, milk, grain, hogs and fruit to shoes, dry cleaning,
grocery products and televisions, La Porte makes and sells it all.
Today the Greater
La Porte Chamber of Commerce and the La Porte Economic Advancement
Foundation boasts a full-service community development program,
including industrial development services. Local tax abatement, state
infrastructure grants, training programs, SBA 504 financing and
important contacts with utility, railroad, state and regional
development personnel help facilitate deal making in our area.
Please feel free to
browse the Chamber's website and the important links located on this
page. The NIPSCO economic development site is an important reference for
LaPorte community information and listings of available industrial
buildings and industrial parks. The state of Indiana site provides a
variety of information regarding state incentive and technical
assistance programs to business owners and managers.
Please do not
hesitate to contact the Chamber office with development questions or
concerns, 219.362.3178.
